Minutes from July 2013 general meeting

The minutes for the July general meeting are now available here.  At the meeting, Joseph Connellan, Di Missen and Caz Healy from the Doutta Galla Health Centre spoke about the current operation of the Doutta Galla Health Centre which is providing critical and ongoing health services to those at the margin, including the homeless, poor, refugees, and people with ongoing mental health concerns.  The Doutta Galla Health Centre is merging with two similar inner city health groups.  More information about their work, is on their website http://doutta.org.au.  We thank them for their ongoing efforts to the community.

2013 Annual General Meeting

The 2013 Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Association is to be held on Tuesday 21 May 2013 at Dewey Common Room, 601 Queensberry Street, North Melbourne (Enter off Union Street). Please arrive at 7.15pm for a 7.30pm start. At the conclusion of the  official  business of the AGM, Association member, Thomas Shearer will give a  presentation of the changes in the Associations Incorporation Reform Act 2012 and the new Model Rules affecting the Association.

Invitation to the Health and Homelessness Community Forum

A community forum to discuss Health and Homelessness will be held on Wednesday 1st May in The Meeting Room at the North Melbourne Town Hall.  Registration is from 9.30am, the forum is from 10am-12pm with refreshments afterwards.  Adam Bandt, Federal MP for Melbourne, and Jennifer Kanis, State MP for Melbourne will be two of many speakers on the day.  The full invitation can be seen here.

Series: Ideas for Melbourne: Ending homlessness

A quick reminder that, David Mayes, Manager Strategic Planning, City of Melbourne has been invited to talk and to answer questions about Planning Scheme Amendment C207/207 Arden-Macaulay Heritage. This is a very important issue as it is dealing with the Arden-Macaulay Structure Plan area. Heritage has been very important in the past for the Association and members will see this meeting as crutial.
